College Library

          The College Library is the heart of the institution and it acquires, processes, preserves and disseminates information to the user community with a motto to strengthen knowledge.  It has an extensive collection of books, reference materials to satisfy the academic and research needs of both students and faculty. The library has a Reference Section, a Circulating Section, a Periodical Section, and a section dedicated to competitive examinations has the collections of Books for the reference to the students who are preparing for the Recruitment Examinations. There is also a section of university semester question banks provided to the students for the purpose of preparing University Semester Examinations. The library has automated all its processes to provide effective and extensive academic resources, including books, scholarly journals and online databases.

          It is the vision of the Library to support the institution and its stakeholder by providing seamless access to the widest possible spectrum of information resources such as digital, online databases, print and non-print materials relevant to the curricular, informational and innovative research needs of the academic community, means to provide Right Information to the Right Users at the Right Time and in the Right Format.

Library Collections

          The library having a collection of 5000 volumes of books including reference and text books for Under Graduate Courses and Post Graduate Courses are being arranged on open access shelves for easy search and retrieval purposes.

Periodicals and News Paper Collection

          Library has been subscribing 10 number of periodicals to satisfy the academic and reference needs of both students, scholars and faculty. And also Library has subscribed 5 number of daily newspapers both in English and Tamil, so that the students can read as per their comfort.

Journals and Magazines

          Library has been subscribing about 10 print journals and magzines with professional and research orientation.

Library Services/Facilities

          The Library has been automated using Koha open source software with barcode technology for circulation system. An OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) has been created to enhance the search facilities to explore the resources of the library. A Digital Library is designed and developed with an open-source software DSpace to provide access to the digital contents. Faculty and students can retrieve online information relating to all academic activities from the dedicated terminals situated in the library under digital library programme. Online database is arranged through Local Area Network (LAN) for students and faculty members. Network resource sharing facilities are provided through DELNET and Inter Library Loan Services from the libraries of neighboring institutes

OPAC Service

         OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogue) is the tool for searching the collection of the Library. This provides facility to search and check the availability of the document/(s) of your choice in the library. The documents could be searched by a number of access points viz. Title, Author, Subject, Publisher, Keywords, etc. These access points could be used individually or in conjunction with each other using Boolean operators AND / OR for searching the documents

Current Awareness Service (CAS)

         The library provides Current Awareness Service to the users and helps them to keep up to date with latest information. In this regard the library provides them the latest magazines and periodicals, books for general awareness, competitive exams books and newspapers etc.

Information Literacy Programmes / Library Orientation Programme : Library orientation programme is organized every year for new comers at the beginning of the academic year. Book Exhibition, etc.

         The library advisory committee has been constituted for support to the librarian to make library policy and its proper functioning.

National Digital Library of India (NDLI)

        The National Digital library of India (NDLI) is a project under Ministry of Human Resource Development, India  and its objective is to integrate several national and international digital libraries in one single web-portal. The NDLI provides free of cost access to many books in English and the Indian languages. Access can be made through web or via mobile app, available for Android at Google Play.

e-PG Pathshala

        e-PG Pathshala is an initiative of the MHRD under its National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT) being executed by the UGC. It is one portal under which High quality, curriculum-based, interactive content in different subjects across all disciplines of social sciences, arts, fine arts & humanities, natural & mathematical sciences, linguistics and languages are available.

Shodhganga

        It is a repository of thesis and dissertations of all central and state universities, maintained by INFLIBNET. It can be accessed by anyone free of cost. The aim to facilitate open access to Indian theses and dissertations to the academic community world-wide.

Shodhgangotri

        It is the repository of Indian Research in Progress (approved Synopses/Research Proposals for Ph.D. programme). The repository on one hand shows the trends and directions of research being conducted in Indian universities, on the other hand it would avoid duplication of research.

MOOCs

         ‘’Massive Open Online Courses’’ (MOOC) are provided online by reputed Indian and foreign universities where anyone can enroll for free and learn at their own pace. Video lectures form the core of MOOCs. Quizzes and assignments are also given out periodically. Some major platforms are:
